The Northwest Wine Guide
A Buyer's Handbook
by Andy Perdue
Over the past decade the American
Northwest has slowly carved out a niche as a serious wine
region able to compete in the world. While it has not been
able to completely shed its image as a cold and wet climate
not conducive to the growing grapes, wine lovers in the
know have discovered some fine Oregon Pinot Noirs or Washington Gewürztraminers. For folks that want to acquaint themselves
with the region or explore it more in depth, the Northwest
Wine Guide: A Buyer's Handbook is a useful tool. It reviews
and recommends close to 1,500 wines via double-blind tastings,
wine panels, blind tastings, festivals etc. Specific vintages
are left out specifically as they are only available for
a limited time and also to give readers a broader spectrum.
The little volume is a great guide to take to restaurants,
wine stores and supermarkets to guide both the novice and
expert in their buying decisions.
