Tasting
Notes: A labor of love, this Oregon producer
known for its Pinot Noir only creates about 150 cases of Chardonnay,
but we're very glad they do! Chablis-like in style, this medium-bodied
wine makes for a pleasant break from over-oaked Californian Chards.
With subtle flavors, good balance and a long finish, Starr demonstrates
Chardonnay's food-friendly side. (Date tasted 08/26/00)
Profile:
Founded in 1991, this tiny Oregon winery has helped build the state's
reputation for fine Pinot Noir. In addition to producing world class
Pinots, this Starr shines with a very limited production of Chardonnay
at a great price.
