X FOR ONE SEX
X-Rated Vodka and Fusion Liqueur

Up until a few years ago, anything labeled “X-Rated” was simply for men. But today’s Cosmopolitan-sipping, “Sex and the City”-watching women are not as easily put off by the adult connotation as their predecessors. In fact, the makers of X-Rated Vodka and X-Rated Fusion Liqueur are gearing their salaciously-named product at the fairer sex.

X-Rated Vodka is distilled seven times in small batches from delicate French wheat and roseberry grain, which is grown on Reunion Island off the coast of Madagascar. The 100-percent organic vodka is then micro-oxygenated and charcoal filtered. The final 80-proof product has an alcoholic aroma, but no alcoholic bite. The spirit has a silky smooth texture, which causes a band of warmth to trend down from mouth to stomach. There is a slight hint of vanilla to the flavor, and no harsh finish.

For those who prefer their vodka in mixed drinks, X-Rated Fusion Liqueur poured over ice is an easy alternative to mixing a Cosmopolitan at home. The 34-proof blend hailing from the Cognac region of France is vodka infused with blood oranges from Provence along with mango and passion fruit. Literally colored a bright pink, the contents of the frosted bottle go down almost too smoothly without a hint of alcohol on the nose or the palate. Not too sweet, it’s the next best thing to a real Cosmo.
