A relative of both Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc is commonly grown in Germany, Austria, Italy and Hungary — as either a dry or sweet wine; though it is most notably grown in Alsace as a dry, full-bodied wine, both rich and smoky, with tropical notes and a low-acidity.
