Enjoy great food and wine at the Fourth Annual Martha's Vineyard Food & Wine Festival. At this fall harvest celebration attendees can enjoy wines from around the world and foods prepared by chefs from Martha's Vineyard and New England. Festivities include wine and food tastings, tours of a local oyster farm, culinary seminars and winemaker dinners. Indulge in locally grown produce from sea and Island farms and enjoy world class entertainment. Tickets for the opening reception featuring the wines of Joseph Carr cost $125 per person; Festival events are individually priced. The Fireplace's bi-monthly tasting series offers discriminating drinkers a chance to swap knowledge on wine, beer, spirits, and artisinal specialties. The libations get paired (naturally) with chef Jim Solomon's hearty New England cuisine; an expert will be on hand for educational purposes. The tastings begin at 3 p.m, and cost is $30. Mondays
Ashmont Grill hosts a Monday Night Wine Club. This weekly dinner and lecture series costs $30 to attend and includes four courses of small plates complemented by wines. Fridays
The Watertown location of Gordon's Fine Wine and Liquors hosts free tastings from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. every Friday.
