Come visit San Luis Obispo's annual SLO Vintners Harvest Celebration for a three-day showcase of the Central Coast's 50 best wineries and restaurants. Guests will be able to enjoy assorted winemaker dinners, winery open houses, and a Grand Tasting & Auction, which will be held at the Avila Beach Golf Resort. The Saturday afternoon Grand Tasting, which costs $80 per person, will include vino from Baileyana, Edna Valley Vineyard, Laetitia, and Tangent. November 13-15
The Monterey County Vintners & Growers Association will present their annual The Great Wine Escape Weekend, a premier festival featuring dozens of regional wineries and local and nationally famous chefs. Visiting gourmands will be able to enjoy wine and food seminars, culinary demonstrations, winemaker dinners, educational tours of nearby vineyards and wineries, and a grand tasting. Some of the event's highlights include a private after-hours tour and dinner at the Monterey Bay Aquarium (Friday evening); a seven-course Founding Fathers winemaker dinner with top area winemakers such as Al Scheid of Scheid Vineyards and Jerry Lohr of J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines (Saturday night); and the Grand Finale Tasting at the InterContinental, The Clement Hotel Monterey with 35 wineries and a dozen restaurants (Sunday afternoon). Saturdays
On Saturday afternoons enjoy Tolosa Winery's special tasting flights, where visitors to the Heritage Room can taste Pinot Noirs, Chardonnays and Syrahs paired with four gourmet cheeses from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. $15 for Wine Club members; $20 all others.
