The Capital Grille hosts a Master Wine Tasting Event where guests can enjoy ten hand-selected wines with dinner. Jazz Uncorked, an evening of jazz and food and wine pairings, will be held at the Sheraton Tucson Hotel and Suites from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event, which is a fundraiser for Tucson Jazz Institute Parent Boosters Scholarship fund, will include a five-course dinner prepared by fire & spice Chef David Ferrara paired with wines from around the world. Students from the Tucson Jazz Institute will provide the music. Tickets cost $100 (50 percent is a tax-deductible donation to the Jazz Institute) and ticket holders will receive a voucher for a bottle of one of the featured wines. Casting for Recovery, a non-profit organization for Arizona breast cancer survivors, invites guests for a food and wine pairing to be held at Studio Vino. The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with a silent auction and continue as guests indulge in seven wines paired with food. Kabuki Japanese Restaurants in Tempe and Glendale are offering special pub food platters that include a pitcher of Kirin draft beer and bottle of hot sake. Available Sunday-Thursday, the shareable combinations include "The Pub," with sesame chicken, calamari and green bean tempura, served with three dipping sauces ($20) and "The Oishi," featuring the Gold Rush roll with four spicy tuna and four spicy albacore rolls ($20). Kabuki's Glendale and Tempe locations have debuted new summer menus centered on Japanese cuisine, beer and sake combinations.
