The Roof Terrace Restaurant at the Kennedy Center will host a French wine dinner with a four-course menu from chef de cuisine Vatche Benguian and pastry chef Ben McCormick at 7 p.m. Guests will be guided through the four specially selected wine pairings by Summer Whitford, the Food and Wine Diva and professional chef, writer and food and wine educator. The Roof Terrace Restaurant will have a special book signing with Whitford and her new book, Join Us at the Embassy, about how foreign ambassadors and embassies in Washington entertain and showcase their countries' cuisine and wine. Park Hyatt Washington has introduced a new wine program showcasing an extensive selection of high-end wines seldom offered by the glass. Prices begin at $9 for a glass of Merlot Novelty Hill and go up to $50 for a glass of Caymus Special Select 2004. Monday-Friday
The "Hour of Power" takes place Monday through Friday from 5 p.m.-6 p.m. in the lounge at The Source by Wolfgang Puck. This happy hour alternative features a trio of food items paired with a flight of wines for $25 per person (exclusive of tax and gratuity). Executive chef Scott Drewno kick-starts his new menu with a trio pairing in which guests can enjoy three types of dumplings, each matched with a specially selected glass of wine. Offerings will change frequently and future specialties will include trios of soups, spring rolls and ribs. Wednesdays
Chef Geoff's hosts a weekly Wine Time Wednesday, with a flight of six wines available for $15. Each flight will follow a selected theme. On the last Monday of every month Cheff Geoff's features half-price special selections, with the right side of the wine list available at half price.
