WINERY ORGANIZATIONS: FRANCE

France's wine regions have widely different climate and growing conditions, but after hundreds of years of winemaking, the French have pretty much figured out which grapes grow best in each area. Thus, some of the world's best wines come from France, from Chardonnays and Viogniers to Cabernets and Syrahs.

Loire Valley Wines
Situated in the heart of France, the Loire Valley is the third largest viticultural area in France and produces more white wine than any other region in the country. The website explains the region, the wines and proper food pairings for the Loire’s many wines.

Maison de la France
France’s official bureau of tourism has its own section featuring the country’s various wine regions. The interactive map allows you to explore the different regions of France, learn about its wines and link to other sites for more information. Also featured are news and travel tips.

R3AP
The Comité de Promotion des Produits Agro-Alimentaire de Rhone-Alpes, R3AP, was created in 1986 through the desire of the three regional Chambers: Agriculture Chamber, Commerce and Industry Chamber and the Trades Chamber. R3AP is present on all fronts in order to promote alimentary products from the Rhone-Alpes region and to help the farmers and companies develop their market share in France and abroad.

Wines of France
Their website aims to educate wine drinkers on all aspects of French wine production, from appellation regions to winemaking techniques to food pairings. Includes both French and English version of website.
