| Virginia's
wine history dates back to the colonial days of Thomas Jefferson,
when the former U.S. President decided to experiment with
vines on his plantation in historic Monticello. Since then,
Virginia has slowly blossomed into a reputable winemaking
area, growing from six wineries in 1979 to 75 and counting
today.
