When we recently brought Wine- and FoodSmarts to a dinner party, we encountered raised eyebrows from our highbrow friends... at first. The camps quickly divided into those New York Times Crossword Puzzle and "Trivial Pursuit" loving word nerds and the non-foodies, the ones that'd rather talk about more serious matters, like stock portfolios or Gore Vidal.

All kidding aside, soon everybody around the table was engaged in the game, guessing on terms like chaptalization and Vin Santo or rolling their eyes on Rioja and pairing caviar with Champagne. Obvious. Finally, some us got enlightened on the important fact that the bangers in "bangers and mash" refer to sausages. In short, these games are a blast!
