This is a winery with an impressive pedigree. Both owners/winemakers Anne and Michael Dashe earned their enology degrees before racking up experience at such respected establishments as: Cloudy Bay; Chateau Lafite Rothschild; Chateau La Dominique and the godfather of Zinfandel producers, Ridge Vineyards. Michael Dashe clearly learned a thing or two about making great Zinfandel, considering that at only four years old, Dashe is already rising in the rankings of world-class Zins.

1997 Late Harvest Zinfandel Varietal/Style: Zinfandel Origin: Russian River Valley, CA Vintage: 1997 Winemaker: Michael & Anne Dashe Rating: 14/20 Retail Price: $18 Tasting Notes: At five percent residual sugar, this full-flavored Zinfandel is seductively sweet without becoming cloying. Although it lacks complexity, with flavors that hint of berries and cocoa, this wine would make a wonderful accompaniment to any pudding or dense chocolate dessert. (Date tasted 08/26/00)
